Emergency Fund

We want to set up and maintain an emergency fund account to help families who are just diagnosed or  currently in treatment for any kind of childhood cancer. This will be set up to pay for household essential bills such as power, rent or water. Upon approval, families can have expenses covered to keep households running while they focus on their child's care.

Silas's Scholarship Program

Silas's Ducks offers a scholarship program for those kids who have faced cancer and for their siblings. As funds become available for this program we would like to offer multiple scholarships for these fighters and families. Cancer is hard, on every single family member. This is where we can take the time to show siblings how important they are too. Applications for this program  are offered upon request.

Blessing Bags

These bags are filled with essential supplies that parents need when they are unexpectedly staying at the hospital with their child. We Make these available to any parent or caregiver by partnering with RMDH and local children's hospitals. They have brushes, soaps ,lotions toothbrushes and much more. We try to keep these items as organic as possible to keep reactions down from chemo.

Equine Grief Therapy

Loosing a child to cancer is unimaginable. There are no words of comfort anyone can give these parents. But there is help, we offer a new program in the Hickory NC area that works with parents. This program is very new but it is held at a local licensed ranch to work through the grief process. These horses  can offer support and connection when no one else can. The staff at Walk With me Healing Steps is knowledgeable and understanding and can help parents work through a lot of emotions after loosing a child to cancer.
